Skip Isaacs' association and commitment to church and music began at an early age, since the local Methodist church was the center of both his spiritual and social life.  He began singing as a child in Sunday School and then became active in both vocal and instrumental music from grade school through military service.  While attending the University of Maryland, Skip sang in the combined men's and women's chorus.  During his active duty military years, he played with the U.S. Coast Guard recruit marching band, the highlight of which was playing in President Nixon's inaugural parade.

Skip maintains an active role in his local church.  He has held roles on numerous committees and boards over the years, including finance, trustees, and chair of the Administrative Board.

Graduating from Montgomery College as a fire science major, Skip also attended the University of Maryland as a math education major.

While employed with Montgomery County Department of Fire & Rescue Services, he served in numerous positions including Paramedic, Fire Code Inspector/Investigator, Station Officer, and District Chief/Assistant Fire Marshal in the Fire Code Enforcement Office.  Skip retired after 28 years of service and then worked for the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland, as a part-time Fire Code Plans Review Engineer.  After September 11, 2001, he was recalled to active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard where he was assigned to a Homeland Security Project and served as a technical advisor to the National Vessel Movement Center.

Mr. Isaacs jointed The National Christian Choir in 1998 along with his wife, Donna, who sings alto.  They have two adult sons, Aaron and Chad, and two grandsons.
