KATHY BOWMAN

Kathy Bowman has been with the NCC since its inception, serving as pianist, assistant producer for recordings, composer and choral arranger. Her composition “I Choose To Believe” has enjoyed considerable success nationwide and remains a strong choir favorite.

Holding a BA in choral music from the College of William and Mary as well as a Master’s degree in piano performance from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Ms. Bowman taught music at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee as well as in the Howard County Maryland Public schools, where she directed several award-winning choruses. She has been a choral director and minister of music in Church of God, Assembly of God, and United Methodist congregations throughout her 30+ year career, and is well-known for producing large-scale dramatic musicals for both adult and children's choirs.

Ms. Bowman served for 16 years as founding co-pastor of Potomac Valley Assembly in Germantown, MD and is a sought-after worship leader and conference speaker. Her future plans include pursuit of a Doctorate in Worship Studies as well as publication of several writing projects that are in process.
