MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Gary Cooley
It was low tide at Normandy. A young man stood overlooking Omaha Beach, watching waves lick over the hulks left from that remarkable day so many years before. Gary Cooley was traveling with his high school band to play at the celebration marking the 40th Anniversary of D-Day. Performing there, hearing President Ronald Reagan's commemorative address at the American Cemetery and visiting famous places in the area left indelible impressions on this future National Christian Choir member.
Gary Cooley was born in Washington, D.C. Adopted into a Christian family, he began attending Barnesville Baptist Church as an infant and has continued there until this day. It was after a revival at his church that Gary, at the age of seven, accepted Christ as is Savior. He has remained actively involved throughout the years, especially in music. He sang in the children's choir as a youth, and as he matured, a new choir director saw his potential as a tenor, nurtured him, drew out his quiet personality, and encouraged him...
